SUCCESSFUL TRIVIA NIGHT SPONSORED BY FRIENDS IN DEED
BYO Boo Raises Funds for DOORWAYS Each Year
St. Louis, MO – October 24, 2022 – On Saturday, October 22, 2022, the DOORWAYS Friends In Deed group sponsored BYO Boo, a Halloween-themed trivia fundraiser. The event was held at the Glazier’s Union Hall at 5916 Wilson Avenue. A near sell-out, over 220 people enjoyed 10 rounds of trivia, a 50/50 raffle, raffle baskets, two pay-to-play games, a wine pull, and more. Those attending voted on the best individual and team costumes (see 3rd photo).
Opal M. Jones, president and CEO of DOORWAYS, welcomed the crowd and expressed appreciation for such a strong turnout. She also expressed gratitude for the many volunteers who made this event a success. Tim Bono served as the MC. The raffle baskets were donated by Friends In Deed members Colin Keller, Haliday Douglas, Jenny Giudici, Joe Pfaller, Chris Lintz, and Tracy Stone. And several other volunteers joined with set-up, judging, selling raffle tickets, and dispensing the complimentary beverages and popcorn.

Friends in Deed is a group of volunteers who sponsor social and fundraising activities throughout the year. (Learn more on the Friends In Deed web page.) Their goals are to increase awareness of the DOORWAYS mission, enhance the DOORWAYS volunteer base, build future agency volunteer leadership, and generate additional revenue through fundraising events. Every year these goals are accomplished at the BYO Boo Trivia Night and other activities.
