RETRO RED 2024 – A Disco Ball – Welcomed More
Than 500 Guests and Raised More Than $400,000
St. Louis – February 10, 2024 In its 23rd year as the primary fundraising event for DOORWAYS, the 2024 RED Gala welcomed 500+ guests in glittering attire inspired by flashy retro fashions of the iconic New York City night club, Studio 54! The success of the event relies upon the mix of options for guests to select. This includes purchasing event tickets, participating in the Golden Raffle drawing or the RED Raffle drawing, the live auction, the fund the need, and sponsorships including table sponsors and corporate sponsors.
The evening kicked off with a grand reveal of the dazzling Khorassan Ballroom where guests enjoyed a 3-course meal followed by the live auction. The winner of the Golden Raffle took home a trip to Competa, Spain, which was followed by fierce bidding for the highly coveted Taylor Swift ERAS Concert auction package. Following dessert, the audience heard from DOORWAYS President and CEO, Opal M. Jones. Each year this event debuts a client success video created by ONCE Films. This year’ video introduced us to Michael and was titled “I Needed To Be Addicted To Something.” Follow this link to view the video. After the Fund the Need challenge, party revelers made their way to our very own Studio “35,” a Studio 54-influenced disco dance party closing the celebration of the agency’s 35th anniversary year.

About DOORWAYS:
DOORWAYS offers housing and supportive services to improve quality of life and health outcomes for people battling homelessness and illness from HIV and other chronic conditions resulting from a life of poverty. Medical research has led to the development of medications that can render the virus undetectable. An undetectable virus is untransmittable, ending new cases. However, it is nearly impossible for an individual to manage an HIV healthcare regimen without stability within the social determinants of health: housing, nutrition/hunger, income/employment, education/skills-building, community, etc. In response, DOORWAYS has evolved over the years to provide assistive, emergency, flexible, and permanent housing programs; Metro and Outstate subsidies programs to prevent homelessness for those in their own accommodations through rent and utility assistance; and empowerment programs offering food security, pharmacy delivery, behavioral health counseling, employment/income assistance, self-development programming, one-on-one goal management, and linkage to resources.
